Devil May Cry is a ridiculous and bombastic series. It knows what it wants to do and does it better than any other; it’s really fun and full on. Dante, the main character, never lets problems stop him, he isn’t concerned with the opinions of others, and isn’t afraid to fail when trying something new. When I came upon this game as a young boy about 14 years ago, I was starting to experience that judgmental eye of other kids that often starts around that age. Being exposed to Devil May Cry, and the character Dante, in a way helped shape how I approach life even to this day as an adult: Don’t let fear get in the way of growth, be confident in your ability to succeed, and never forget to have fun.
