Note: The Ringwraith is not preshrunk. Once washed and dried for the first time, it will be the intended size.
They are the Nazgûl, the nine kings of old, once proud and great, now fallen under the dark will of Sauron. The Nazgûl are neither men nor spirits, but an amalgam, halted in between.
Inspired by the dark power of the Nazgûl, the Ringwraith is like nothing you’ve ever seen. Curling like mist, its long lines flutter and flow with each step. The organic raw edges are soft and graceful, contrasting with structural armored elements on the torso. Neither coat nor hoodie, the Ringwraith is a groundbreaking hybrid.

I really like this jacket, its flows well, and being short and slim on their chart it said to order a 33/35 for a slim fit. I found that that was too small on me, and that the next size up would work best (this was during their move and I can't exchange it yet, but given the fit being pretty close to what I want, this is what I recommend). The jacket material was better than expected and the overall look and how it lays on me is great. I personally will finish the edges of the sleeves and the bottom of the tails, since without shoes on, this jacket touches the ground, and I'm concerned that the bottom will get recked from just walking around. On that note, the unfinished edges obviously will have a tendency to fray, so be aware that putting it on and taking it off will pull on any stray strings by the buttons. I totally understand it for the look, I just personally get scared when something this nice, and expensive, starts look like its breaking down after the first wear. Also this isn't pre-shrunk, so do expect it to get smaller. I when I tried the first size I got on I was scared to cross my arms across my chest, as it felt like the back would rip given the tension. So be aware of the size, and maybe order bigger, and then think about exchanging it. Company was super helpful and apologetic, great people, will buy from again if I have the money (yay college)
A fun garment to accentuate a design aesthetic. The looser and softer knit fabric on the arms and the extension of the garment below the waist feel nice against the skin, whereas the central portion of the garment (maybe be way to describe it is to call it a vest? It would essentially be a vest with a hood if the arms and lower portion were removed...) - that is a bit more tightly woven - and looks magnificent. I do have concerns about the frayed edges of the fabric with respect to longevity for the garment. It is a design choice reflecting upon the inherent instability of ringwraiths and the unweaving of the soul... but does it lead to instability of my not coat, not hoodie? Time will tell, time will tell... I did find myself looking at it inthe mirror a couple of times and thinking, "If only I could unsnap the lower portion for just short coat-like garment... and realized that I am probably just over eager for the upcoming Alucard...
I love the design and the fit overall is great. The arms are quite long and the bottom is dragging on the ground a little when I wear it, but I saw that the item is not pre-shrunk so I'm hoping these things will improve once it gets washed a couple times. Overall, I love that Volante is doing a Middle Earth line and I look forward to seeing, and purchasing, more items from this line.
As someone who is a bit on the larger side of the spectrum, I'm always worried about getting high end costume pieces. The Ringwraith really accomodates for size. The button placements allow for different styles of wear, where even a single button clasped can make the outfit work. Very comfortable. The sleeves were long at first but did adjust after the first wash. Always recommend.
